Spectacular sunrises like this require early rising. Yes, one of the best times of the day. This is the fourth of a series: studies of the twilight hours, as seen at various times and in various places.
The original photo of this showed the sunrise coming up behind houses. I used artistic license to place a landscape more in keeping with the rest of the series.

The only name for this type of flower I could find was "Pink Lilies" but I call them Fairy Lilies because of the way they grow. The broad, green leaves come up in the early Spring, to die down in late June or July. Then in August, the stalk comes up with the flowers, no leaves. They look magical to me.

This particular variety is in my living room, one of the few African violets I've had that survives, and for that reason I love it.
