Again, she's such a good model, and so available to me. It was too cute when she put on every single party bead necklace she could find, then plugged in her pacifier. I hadn't mixed color pencils with graphite before, so it was fun for me to see the result.

This one is taken from two separate photos, melded into one. It was hard to find one with my husband's fantastic smile, but it was there when I was behind the camera. This was the first time to draw myself. That was a weird sensation.

I did this for a music history class in college. We each had to do research on an area other than music, during one of the musical historical periods. I chose "Impressionistic" and rather than give a lecture or write a paper, I chose to do the painting in front of the class, using impressionistic (as I understood it) style.

The name was taken from the popular saying, "Pink sky at night sailor's delight, pink sky in morning sailor's take warning." This painting was surely a delight to paint.

Based on a photo I took, this was definitely a learning experience. I had taken many photos of the grove, which we consider sacred. As I viewed them on our television through the camera, this particular view brought a special feeling to me and my husband. I had to try it.
